Head Injury Association is seeking full-time/part-time Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to provide direct care to individuals supported in our residential programs which are located throughout Suffolk and Nassau Counties.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Ensuring health, wellness and safety and providing appropriate supervision of people supported
• Building positive relationships with individuals supported as well as fellow co-workers
• Using effective communication and time management skills
• Completing mandatory trainings based on program and position (AMAP, CPR/First Aid, SCIP-R, Defensive Driving, etc.)
• Adhering to HIA’s policies, procedures and regulations
• Completing documentation to ensure compliance and billing
• Transporting and escorting people we support on recreational activities, medical appointments, home visits, community outings, etc.
• Helping the individuals we support achieve their goals

Available Shifts:

• ALL SHIFTS AVAILABLE!!

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Must have a valid NYS license
• Basic written and verbal communication
• *AMAP, SCIP and First Aid/CPR certifications preferred*
• Training offered in-house
