Direct Support Professional - DSP

Alexander Milne Developmental Services is seeking compassionate, dependable, and dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals (DSPs)/Certified Medication Attendants (CMAs).

As a DSP/CMA, you will provide hands-on support, care, supervision, and companionship to individuals with developmental disabilities.

You will play an important role in helping our consumers maintain their health, independence, dignity, and quality of life.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Provide assistance with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, cooking, and brushing teeth

• Assist consumers with meals and meal preparation

• Monitor and document consumer health, behavior, activities, food consumption, weight, and other changes

• Take and accurately document vital signs

• Administer medications and properly document administration on the Medication Administration Record (MAR)

• Notify nursing staff of medication concerns, questionable vital signs, or changes in a consumer's condition

• Use appropriate behavior-management techniques

• Participate in recreational, social, and community activities

• Accompany consumers on activities and outings outside the facility

• Assist with positioning and turning non-ambulatory consumers

• Collect clinical specimens when applicable

• Maintain clean and safe living areas, including bedrooms, kitchens, bathrooms, furniture, and appliances

• Complete laundry and maintain appropriate linen and clothing inventories

• Attend required in-service training

• Follow assigned work schedules and established care procedures

• Occasionally operate a company vehicle to transport residents

• Provide a consistent, positive, supportive environment for consumers

• Perform other duties as assigned

Pay: From $14.00 per hour
