Job Overview

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a vital role in supporting adults with autism by delivering personalized care that enhances independence and overall quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and community integration
• Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) and Individual Program Plans (IPP) to meet each client’s individual needs
• Facilitate access to community resources and opportunities that promote social engagement and skill development
• Serve as a positive role model, fostering a safe, respectful, and supportive environment
• Collaborate with team members and families to ensure a high standard of care and consistency of support

Skills

• Strong communication skills and ability to connect with clients and families
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting individuals with diverse needs

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities
• Valid California driver’s license with clean driving record and current auto insurance
• TB clearance and successful completion of Live Scan background check
• Current CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)

Schedule

• Multiple daytime shifts available
• Overnights also available
• Enhanced DSP positions also available for highly qualified candidates
• Flexible scheduling; full-time and part-time options
• Expected hours: 18-24/week
