Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Immediate Opening

Helping Hands Behavioral LLC is seeking a dependable, compassionate Direct Support Professional to support individuals with developmental disabilities in Middlefield, Ohio. Help individuals build daily living skills, participate in their community, and live as independently as possible while respecting their choices, dignity, and privacy.

Pay and schedule

• Starting pay: $17.00 per hour.
• This position starts part-time and may grow into a full-time role over time. A transition to full-time is not guaranteed.
• Work is in person in Middlefield, Ohio.
• Immediate opening; applicants available to start promptly are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized support consistent with each person’s service plan and goals.
• Assist with daily routines and personal care as needed, including hygiene, dressing, meal planning, meal preparation, and household tasks.
• Encourage independence, decision-making, relationship-building, and community participation.
• Support appointments, errands, and recreational activities as assigned.
• Maintain a safe, respectful environment and promptly report concerns or changes in an individual’s needs to the supervisor.
• Complete accurate daily notes and service documentation and communicate clearly with the team.
• Follow individual support plans, safety procedures, and agency policies; attend required training and meetings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Dependability, patience, good judgment, and respectful communication.
• Ability to work independently and follow individualized support plans.
• Prior direct-care or developmental-disabilities experience is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification are a plus.
• Ability to report reliably to the Middlefield work location.
