Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Middletown, NY

United Courage is seeking a compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide one-on-one support to a child with developmental and/or behavioral health needs in the Shirley, NY area.

The ideal candidate will be patient, engaging, and committed to helping individuals build independence, social skills, and confidence through meaningful community and home-based activities.

Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one support in the home and community
• Assist with the development of daily living, social, and communication skills
• Support participation in recreational and community activities
• Encourage independence while ensuring safety and well-being
• Follow individualized goals and service plans
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided
• Communicate effectively with families and the care team

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
• Reliable transportation preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and maintain professionalism
• Must pass required background checks
