Direct Support Professional (DSP)-Transportation Focused

Job Overview
Redemptive Care is seeking compassionate, dependable, and professional Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide safe and reliable transportation and community-based support services for individuals with developmental disabilities throughout Cuyahoga County, Ohio.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping others maintain independence, engage in their community, and arrive safely to their day programs, appointments, and other daily destinations. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference while developing valuable skills in caregiving and support services.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport individuals to, medical appointments, day programs, community activities, grocery shopping, recreational outings, work or volunteer activities
• Assist individuals with entering/exiting vehicles safely
• Ensure vehicle cleanliness and safety standards are maintained
• Provide compassionate support and companionship during transportation and community outings
• Complete daily documentation and transportation logs
• Support individuals with community integration and independence goals
• Communicate professionally with families, guardians, supervisors, and care teams
• Follow all Ohio DODD and Medicaid transportation guidelines
• Administer medications following HIPAA guidelines and care protocols under supervision or as trained

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Valid Ohio Driver’s License
• Proof of Insurance
• Must complete all DODD required training
• Clean driving record with 4 points or fewer
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening
• Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or medication administration are a plus

• Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks required for patient care and mobility assistance
• Strong observational skills for client monitoring and care documentation
• Ensure vehicle cleanliness and safety standards are maintained
• Compassionate attitude with a commitment to providing respectful, person-centered support
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred but not required
