Duties

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, and mobility support
• Monitor patients’ health by taking vital signs, observing behavior, and reporting changes promptly
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary
• Support clients with medication administration following care plans and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) regulations for privacy
• Operate patient transfer equipment such as Hoyer lifts and utilize proper manual handling techniques for safe patient movement
• Maintain detailed documentation of care provided, patient progress, and incident reports in compliance with healthcare standards
• Engage in patient observation to identify behavioral or health concerns, especially in memory care or dementia settings

Experience

• Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge of patient care techniques including first aid, CPR, and emergency response procedures
• Experience supporting individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, or intellectual disabilities support is advantageous
• Familiarity with care plans, medication administration, patient monitoring, and resident’s rights is essential
• Background in geriatrics or hospice care enhances your ability to provide compassionate senior care
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and patient transfer methods safely while adhering to manual handling protocols
• Proven track record of effective client communication and delivering personalized caregiving services
