Direct Support Professional (Part-time days, 10hrs/week)

Job Summary
We are hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for part-time day shifts (approximately 10 hours per week; split into 2-3 shifts), where your patience and compassion will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities. Responsibilities

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including mobility supports and toileting care to ensure comfort and dignity.
• Monitor individual's overall health status, reporting any changes or concerns promptly.
• Administer medications accurately following prescribed protocols and document all medication administration in medical records / (EHR) systems (as applicable by location).
• Support individuals with mobility using equipment such as walkers, and assisting with transfers safely. This involves some potential lifting requirements.
• Engage individuals in social activities, behavioral management strategies, and recreational programs to foster socialization.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing routine cleaning duties in accordance with health standards.
• Document incidents, shift reports, and resident progress thoroughly to ensure continuity of care.
• Drive residents for appointments and community activities, ensuring safety at all times.
• Collaborate with team members, healthcare professionals, families, and social workers to coordinate comprehensive support plans.

Experience

• Prior experience working in supported living settings, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, day programs, or personal care homes is highly preferred.
• Experience administering medications and monitoring vital signs within long-term or home & community care settings is preferred.
• Familiarity with electronic documentation is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance for transportation duties.
