Direct Support Professional - Part time- WEEKENDS ONLY

Duties

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote comfort and independence
• Support residents with medication administration following prescribed protocols and safety guidelines
• Monitor vital signs and observe health status to promptly identify any changes requiring attention
• Implement behavior management strategies for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's, or other cognitive disabilities
• Operate manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts safely to assist with resident transfers and mobility needs
• Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding while respecting dietary restrictions and preferences
• Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control procedures

Experience

• Prior assisted living or long-term care experience is highly preferred, especially in residential or group home settings
• Experience working with individuals who have developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease
• Knowledge of resident’s rights and best practices in geriatrics, memory care, and behavior management
• Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional training in safe patient lifting practices is advantageous
• Familiarity with medication administration protocols and client communication techniques
• Hands-on experience operating standard passenger cars for community outings or appointments is a plus
• Demonstrated ability to handle heavy lifting safely and perform manual handling tasks effectively

• High school or equivalent (Required)
