Position Overview

Wade’s Harmony Home Care is seeking a dependable, flexible, and compassionate PRN On-Call Caregiver / Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide coverage when regularly scheduled staff members are unavailable.

This position is ideal for someone with a flexible schedule who can respond to staffing needs on short notice.

While scheduled for on-call availability, the employee must be able to report to an assigned shift within 2 hours of being contacted.

Compensation

This is a nonexempt PRN position paid at $17.00 per hour.

Employees who successfully fulfill the requirements of their assigned on-call periods will receive a minimum guaranteed compensation of $200 per biweekly pay period.

If applicable wages earned from hours worked exceed the $200 minimum guarantee, the employee will receive the higher applicable amount, subject to all applicable wage and overtime requirements.

Examples:

5 hours × $17 = $85 → Receive $200

10 hours × $17 = $170 → Receive $200

20 hours × $17 = $340 → Receive $340

The $200 is a minimum guarantee and is not added to hourly earnings.

All hours actually worked must be accurately recorded.

On-Call Requirements

While assigned to an on-call period, employees must:

• Remain reachable by phone
• Respond promptly to calls or messages regarding available shifts
• Be able to report to an assigned shift within 2 hours
• Maintain reliable transportation
• Be willing to travel to different client locations throughout the assigned service area
• Maintain availability during designated on-call periods
• Be comfortable working with different clients and levels of care
• Be willing to provide coverage when regularly scheduled staff call out or emergency coverage is needed

Employees are not required to remain at home while on call and may participate in personal activities as long as they remain able to meet the required response time and on-call expectations.

Employment Requirements

Applicants must:

• Be 18 years of age or older
• Have a high school diploma or GED
• Be able to pass a Level 2 Background Screening
• Have a valid driver's license
• Have reliable transportation
• Maintain applicable auto insurance when transportation is required
• Have a reliable working phone
• Be dependable and punctual
• Be able to work independently
• Be comfortable providing hands-on personal care
• Be comfortable working with individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities
• Be comfortable working with clients who may have behavioral support needs
• Be physically capable of performing the essential duties of the assigned position, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Complete all required company and client-specific training before providing services independently
• Maintain required certifications and training applicable to assigned clients and services

CPR/First Aid and experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities are preferred.

Responsibilities May Include

• Assistance with activities of daily living
• Bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene
• Feeding assistance
• Meal preparation
• Client supervision and safety
• Transportation and community outings
• Behavioral support and redirection
• Mobility and transfer assistance
• Light housekeeping related to client care
• Following individualized care/support plans
• Completing required service documentation
• Maintaining a safe and supportive environment for clients

Important PRN Expectations

This is a PRN/on-call position, and working hours may vary significantly from week to week. A specific number of working hours is not guaranteed.

The $200 biweekly minimum guarantee is contingent upon successfully fulfilling the requirements of the employee's assigned on-call schedule.

Repeated failure to respond, failure to report within the required timeframe, or failure to maintain assigned on-call availability may result in loss of eligibility for the guaranteed compensation and/or removal from the PRN on-call position, consistent with company policy and applicable law.
