Your role as a Direct Support Professional

Your primary responsibility will be to assist one or several individuals in meeting their basic needs, including personal care, daily living skills, and social integration. To excel as a Direct Support Professional at Mission Vista, you'll need a blend of essential skills and experiences that foster a nurturing environment for individuals with developmental disabilities. Patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills are vital, as you will be building trusting relationships with clients and ensuring they feel secure and respected. A background in caregiving, with 1 to 2 years of experience in a registered or medical facility, is preferred, and possessing a CNA certification will enhance your candidacy. Effective communication in English is required, along with the ability to perform basic data entry and familiarity with Microsoft software. Additionally, a valid driver's license is a must, as is the physical capability to lift up to 40 lbs.
