Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Staff member with proven experience in 245D group homes to join our team. The ideal candidate will serve as a vital caregiver, providing personalized support tailored to the unique needs of individuals. This role involves assisting with daily activities, ensuring safety, and promoting independence for individuals with mental illness, developmental, and cognitive disabilities in a residential care setting.

Duties

• Provide direct personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
• Monitor individuals’ health by taking vital signs and recognizing signs of medical or behavioral issues, promptly reporting concerns to healthcare professionals and teams.
• Administer medications accurately following prescribed protocols while maintaining detailed documentation.
• Operate standard passenger vehicles safely for outings or appointments, adhering to all safety regulations.
• Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and maintaining cleanliness in common areas to promote a healthy living environment.
• Foster a respectful environment that upholds individuals’ rights, promotes dignity, and encourages independence within the community setting.

Requirements

• Prior experience working in 245D group homes or experience in mental health settings.
• Experience assisting with ADLs, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring is required.
• Strong understanding of 245D, behavior management strategies, and safety protocols.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks associated with caregiving duties.
• Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction and teamwork within multidisciplinary settings.

Pay: $11.47 - $28.00 per hour
