Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and caring Direct Support Worker to join our team! In this vital role, you will support individuals with developmental disabilities by assisting with daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their safety and well-being. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help foster a positive environment where clients feel valued and empowered.

Duties

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Support residents with medication administration following proper procedures and safety protocols.
• Monitor vital signs and observe health status, reporting any concerns promptly.
• Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental stimulation and social interaction.
• Follow safe patient lifting practices and manual handling techniques to ensure safety during transfers and mobility assistance.
• Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, client progress, and incident reports.
• Uphold residents’ rights by respecting their dignity, privacy, and individual preferences.

Skills

• Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or residential care environments.
• Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and geriatrics.
• Ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental or cognitive disabilities.
• Proficiency in basic healthcare skills such as vital signs monitoring, medication administration, CPR, and first aid.
• Strong communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration.
• Physical stamina for heavy lifting and long periods of standing or walking.
• Familiarity with home & community care practices and safe patient handling techniques.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 per week
