Responsibilities

• Operate directional boring machines and auxiliary construction equipment with precision and safety awareness
• Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of drilling machinery, including excavators, loaders, backhoes, and water trucks
• Assist in site preparation activities such as excavation, grading, and utility locating to ensure accurate drilling paths
• Follow federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures at all times to maintain a safe work environment
• Support utility locating efforts to identify underground utilities before drilling begins, preventing damage or service interruptions
• Collaborate with team members to execute construction utility work efficiently while adhering to project specifications
• Maintain detailed records of daily operations, equipment usage, and safety compliance throughout each project

Skills

• Proven experience operating heavy construction machinery such as excavators, loaders, backhoes, and Caterpillar equipment
• Strong mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and maintaining construction machinery and tools
• Familiarity with federal construction safety regulations and safety regulations related to heavy equipment operation
• Ability to perform construction site work including excavation, grading, utility locating, and utility installation
• Valid commercial truck driving license with experience in commercial truck driving and water truck operation preferred
• Skilled in construction utility work with an emphasis on precision drilling techniques using directional boring methods
• Knowledge of equipment maintenance routines to ensure optimal performance of all machinery used on site
