What they need
About the Company
A global bank is hiring a Director to join its portfolio risk team in New York. The team oversees credit risk across the bank's corporate and investment banking business. It sets risk appetite, runs portfolio stress testing, manages concentration risk and flags emerging risks early.
About the Role
This role is the senior risk owner for the bank's ABS and securitization funding book, reporting to the head of the portfolio risk team. You will work closely with the Front Office, Credit Risk and Risk Analytics, with direct visibility to senior management.
Responsibilities
- Own risk oversight of a portfolio of securitization funding facilities (warehouse and private ABS lines) across consumer and commercial asset classes, including auto, credit card, student loan, aviation, and equipment/commercial loan and lease.
- Build and run ongoing monitoring of private ABS transactions using financial analysis and cash flow modelling of the capital structure.
- Read and interpret deal documents so that covenants, triggers, waterfalls and structural features are captured correctly in risk models.
- Track collateral performance, covenant compliance and risk metrics to spot credit migration early.
- Design and run portfolio stress tests and scenario analysis, and use them to set portfolio limits against the firm's risk appetite.
- Oversee risk model development, loss assumptions and stress methodology for the securitization book.
- Build new quantitative and analytical tools with the Front Office and Credit Risk to strengthen portfolio management.
- Produce reporting for senior management and regulators, and escalate credit concerns where needed.
- Work with data and technology teams on automation and on making sure exposures are accurately captured in credit systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Computer Science or a related field.
Required Skills
- 8+ years in credit risk analysis of ABS or structured finance, with a solid understanding of asset origination, servicing and ABS financing markets.
- Hands-on experience with collateral analysis, deal modelling and securitization legal structures.
- Experience with structured finance modelling platforms such as Intex, Moody's Analytics or similar.
- Advanced Excel.
- VBA or other programming for transaction modelling is a strong plus.
- Strong analytical judgement and the ability to explain complex structures clearly to senior stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
- VBA or other programming for transaction modelling is a strong plus.
