Director

New York Foundation for Senior Citizens, Inc. is seeking a candidate who will allocate their time in this full time position between performing the general duties of the Minor Home Repairs Program/Access To Home Program Director and the Home Sharing/Respite Care Assistant Director.

Minimum Requirements: A Master's Degree in Social Work with at minimum one year paid full time supervisory experience

Minor Home Repairs Program/Access To Home Program Director - General Duties:

• Hires, and supervises the Program Coordinator and four repair technicians
• Performs and supervises Program Coordinator’s intake/screening and scheduling of technicians’ residential repair visits
• Provides information, referral, follow up, advocacy and crisis intervention for existing clients, new program applicants and other callers
• Reviews all Intake Profiles and verifications, including home ownership and income levels, for completeness and accuracy in determining applicants’ eligibility for the program’s services
• Conducts home visits for new Minor Home Repairs Program (MHRP) and Access To Home Program (ATHP) clients
• Oversee the RFP process to obtain contactors to complete ATHP home modifications
• Ensures timely completion of all client repair requests
• Inputs data into and monitors all computerized records, including Intake/Profiles in FileMaker Pro and accountability and control systems, to ensure that the information is up-to-date, complete, accurate and in compliance with all NYC Aging requirements and contract goals
• Conducts community outreach, including distribution of program fact sheets, brochures and presentations at community based organizations
• Acts as a liaison with community-based organizations
• Ensures program’s compliance with all NYC Aging, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and NYS Home & Community Renewal / Housing Trust Fund Corporation requirements
• Performs all tasks requested by the Director of Programs to support the functioning of the Minor Home Repairs Program and Access To Home Program

Home Sharing/Respite Care Assistant Director - General Duties:

• Responsible for and participates in both the administrative and service delivery components of the Home Sharing and Respite Care Program in the absence of the Program Director
• Assists with insuring the implementation of procedures and policies
• Supports the Director in the overall management of the office
• Participates in the service delivery components of the Home Sharing Program, follow up, outreach, entitlements and benefits assistance, advocacy, etc.
• Conducts home visits, intake assessments, scheduling, evaluations, case management, crisis intervention and follow up services for both Home Sharing and Respite Care
• Assists Home Sharing and Respite Care Coordinators with assessment and matching of clients with extensive follow up
• Prepares and organizes case files
• Answer program related telephone inquiries and provides information and referral services
• Conducts public relations campaigns, develops and maintains ongoing outreach with legislators, local media, community resources
