Director, Data Engineering & Platform

For our client, we are seeking a Director, Data Engineering & Platform to join the team of a leader in the Business Services space.

This leader will guide the strategy and execution of enterprise data engineering and platform capabilities that support broader business priorities. The role is responsible for setting governance standards, modernizing core data infrastructure, and aligning engineering delivery with operational needs. You will also oversee multiple technical teams and partner closely with business and technology stakeholders to improve service quality, efficiency, and long-term platform scalability.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $158,804 – $238,207 annually

Responsibilities

• Lead execution of the enterprise data engineering and platform strategy
• Establish the data engineering operating model and engineering governance standards
• Own the modernization roadmap for enterprise data engineering and ensure alignment with business priorities
• Manage multiple engineering teams across platform, data engineering, and operations
• Drive continuous improvement across engineering delivery, operational processes, and service quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline; Master's degree preferred
• 9-12 years of progressive experience in technology leadership, data engineering, platform engineering, or related fields
• 5+ years of experience leading technical teams in enterprise and platform engineering environments
• Experience directing enterprise transformation and platform modernization initiatives
• Proven capability in managing multi-million-dollar budgets and vendor negotiations
