What they need
Director, Global Data Strategy & Insights
DwyerOmega is improving the world one measurement at a time. We are a fast-growing, PE-backed global manufacturing and engineering group known for our agility, acquisitive growth and innovative culture. As a leading global manufacturer of precision measurement and control solutions, we are trusted across industries to enhance operational efficiency, ensure safety and support sustainability goals. With a legacy of innovation and quality, our products empower customers to monitor, manage and optimise their operations.
The opportunity
This is a highly commercial leadership role for someone who understands that data only creates value when it changes decisions, improves performance and delivers measurable results.
As Director, Global Data Strategy & Insights, you will build and lead a global function that turns commercial data into a competitive advantage. You will provide the insight, challenge and recommendations that help DwyerOmega identify where to invest, where to improve and how to accelerate profitable growth across our regions, brands and acquired businesses.
This is not a reporting-only role. You will work closely with the CCO, Regional VPs, field sales leaders, Product Management, Finance, Global Sales Operations and the Data Team to understand how the business operates, identify opportunities and risks, and recommend changes that improve commercial performance, efficiency and execution.
You will help move the organisation from retrospective reporting to forward-looking commercial insight. Your work will influence sales strategy, pricing, portfolio performance, forecasting, innovation priorities, resource allocation and operational improvement.
What you will do
- Define and own DwyerOmega’s global commercial data and insights strategy, aligned to our broader commercial priorities and growth ambitions.
- Own the global budgeting, forecasting and KPI framework, continuously improving its accuracy, speed, efficiency and usefulness to the business.
- Turn complex data into clear recommendations that influence senior commercial decisions and produce measurable business outcomes.
- Advise the CCO, Senior Director of Global Commercial Excellence and Regional VPs on performance, risks, opportunities, investment decisions and improvement priorities.
- Partner with field sales and Product Management to understand the commercial questions that matter most, including pricing, product mix, cross-sell, customer growth, churn risk and share of wallet.
- Lead deep-dive analysis into sales performance, pipeline health, forecast accuracy, market trends and operational effectiveness, always connecting insight to action.
- Drive the adoption of dashboards, KPIs and reporting standards across AMER, EMEA and APAC, ensuring they are actively used to run the business.
- Lead change management, data literacy and self-service reporting initiatives, retiring low-value activity and releasing capacity for higher-value analysis.
- Use data to identify where DwyerOmega should focus innovation, including AI and advanced analytics opportunities.
- Build measurement plans for major commercial initiatives and demonstrate the impact of changes, investments and new ways of working.
- Establish consistent data standards across regions, brands and acquired businesses so leaders can trust the information they use.
- Build and develop the function as it scales, hiring and growing a high-performing team of commercial analytics professionals.
What we are looking for
You will be a commercially minded strategist who is fluent in data and analytics. You will be able to answer not only “what does the data say?” but also “what should the business do next, and what result will it deliver?”
You will bring:
- 10+ years’ experience in commercial analytics, sales operations, revenue operations, FP&A or business intelligence within a B2B organisation.
- Hands-on ownership of budgeting, forecasting and KPI processes, with evidence of improving how they work.
- Experience using insight to change a senior commercial decision and deliver a measurable result.
- Strong commercial judgement and the confidence to challenge existing processes, recommend change and influence investment priorities.
- Experience partnering directly with field sales, Product Management and senior commercial leaders.
- Strong executive communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to make complex information clear, relevant and actionable.
- Experience leading analysts or building an analytics, planning or insights function.
- A track record of influencing across regions, cultures and functions without relying solely on formal authority.
- Experience driving adoption of dashboards, KPIs or analytics tools through communication, training and change management.
- Advanced Salesforce reporting and business intelligence capability.
Experience with global KPI frameworks, acquired businesses, AI or advanced analytics, SQL, Python, R, Power BI or formal change management training would be advantageous.
Why join DwyerOmega?
This is an opportunity to build a global function with a clear commercial mandate and significant visibility across the organisation.
You will have the opportunity to:
- Shape how a growing, acquisitive global business uses data to make better decisions.
- Influence commercial strategy, investment and operational improvement at senior leadership level.
- Build a function rather than inherit one.
- Work across AMER, EMEA and APAC, supporting multiple brands and acquired businesses.
- Help create a more efficient, insight-led and commercially accountable organisation.
- See a direct link between your recommendations, the decisions they influence and the results they deliver.
If you are motivated by turning data into commercial action, improving how businesses operate and helping leaders make better decisions, apply now for immediate consideration.
