What they need

Description:

DwyerOmega is seeking an experienced and business-minded Director, Human Resources to lead HR strategy and execution across multiple manufacturing and business sites within our growing portfolio.

In this new role you will partner closely with site and functional leaders to align people practices and strategies with business priorities, strengthen organizational capability and process, while supporting a consistent employee experience across locations. The Director will lead a small HR team, with the opportunity to grow the team as the business expands.

The ideal candidate is a strategic HR leader who is equally comfortable advising senior leaders, developing scalable programs, and personally stepping in to resolve complex employee, organizational, or operational needs. This position requires strong business judgment, a practical approach, the ability to drive change and build credibility with leaders and employees in a technical, non-union manufacturing environment.

Strategic & Manufacturing Site HR Leadership

  • Develop and execute HR strategies that support business performance, operational excellence, organizational growth, and employee engagement across multiple sites.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, site leaders, and functional leaders.
  • Translate business goals into practical workforce, talent, organizational, and leadership strategies.
  • Assess organizational effectiveness and recommend improvements to structure, roles, capabilities, and leadership practices.
  • Support workforce planning, succession planning, talent reviews, and leadership development.
  • Establish consistent HR practices across locations while remaining responsive to individual site and business needs.
  • Use workforce data and business metrics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Build effective relationships with hourly and salaried employees across technical, engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and support functions.
  • Partner with leaders to understand engagement and retention drivers, strengthen the employee experience, and reduce avoidable turnover.

Employee Relations

  • Provide guidance on complex employee relations matters, investigations, performance management, corrective action, and workplace concerns.
  • Ensure HR practices are consistent, fair, legally compliant, and aligned with DwyerOmega policies and values.
  • Support compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

Talent & Organizational Development

  • Lead strategies to attract, develop, and retain high-performing talent in a competitive manufacturing environment.
  • Collaboratively partner with Talent Acquisition on workforce planning, critical hiring, and employer branding.
  • Strengthen onboarding, leadership development, career growth, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Help establish clear career paths and development opportunities for technical, manufacturing, and professional employees.
  • Coach leaders to improve communication, accountability, feedback, and employee development.

HR Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop a small HR team supporting multiple locations.
  • Build scalable HR capabilities and recommend future team structure as business needs evolve.
  • Remain hands-on when needed, particularly during periods of change, organizational growth, complex employee relations activity, or resource constraints.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • 10 or more years of progressive HR experience, including experience leading HR for multiple sites or business units.
  • Experience in a technical manufacturing, industrial, engineering, or other operational environment.
  • Demonstrated experience advising senior leaders and influencing business decisions.
  • Experience leading, developing, and scaling an HR team and streamlining process.
  • Strong background in employee relations, organizational development, talent management, workforce planning, and change management.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience with HR information systems and people analytics.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly between assigned locations (up to 50%).

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or comparable certification.
  • Experience supporting acquisitions, integrations, organizational restructuring, or multi-site transformation.
  • Experience in a growing or evolving organization where processes and teams are still being developed.
  • Experience partnering with engineering, operations, quality, supply chain, and commercial functions.
