Director, Landscape Architecture

Job Summary
To lead and grow the Landscape Architecture Studio, currently comprising of fewer than 10 staff, with a mandate to expand the team and its portfolio in the years ahead, and build on and/or rebuild the existing team as required. The Director will spearhead design excellence, business development, and cross-sector project delivery, ensuring the studio’s reputation as a benchmark for innovation and quality in both public and private sector projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership, vision, and direction for the Landscape Architecture Studio.
• Mentor, develop, and grow a high-performing team of landscape architects.
• Drive business development initiatives, expanding the studio’s footprint in both public and private sector projects.
• Oversee design direction and ensure delivery of competitive, award-winning projects.
• Supervise preparation of specifications, tender documentation, and contract administration.
• Review and approve conceptual, schematic, and detailed design drawings.
• Lead cross-disciplinary collaboration and design brainstorming sessions.
• Represent the studio in client engagements, industry forums, and professional networks.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure design integrity and quality execution.
• Provide regular reporting on studio performance, project competitiveness, and market positioning.

Job Competency (Qualification, experience & knowledge)

• SILA accredited and registered Landscape Architect with relevant Degree.
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience, with proven experience in both public and private sector projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, 3D Studio Max, Photoshop, and other relevant design tools.
• Strong knowledge of project, material, and cost management.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and grow a design team.
• Excellent verbal, graphic and interpersonal skills for presentations to clients and CEO.
• Ability to balance creative vision with business development and operational management.
