What they need

The Business Development Leader is responsible for driving external revenue growth through the development and sale of manufactured and modular MEP solutions.  This role identifies, develops, and converts opportunities with owners, developers, OEMs, contractors, and strategic partners. The Director works across product management, estimating, engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain to ensure customer needs align with Harris' manufacturing capabilities and product offerings.

The role is responsible for expanding Harris' presence in targeted markets, developing strategic partnerships, identifying new growth opportunities, and helping position Harris as a leader in industrialized construction and modular MEP systems.  Products may include skids, racks, MCUPs, mechanical rooms, cooling systems, integrated modular MEP systems, and future manufactured product offerings.

Core Responsibilities

Commercial Strategy & Organizational Growth

  • Develop and execute the long-term growth strategy for Harris' manufacturing/modular business.
  • Establish annual revenue, bookings, and market expansion objectives.
  • Build and lead future business development resources as the manufacturing business scales.
  • Provide market and growth recommendations to executive leadership regarding investments, products, partnerships, and geographic expansion.

Revenue Growth & Opportunity Development

  • Own external manufacturing revenue growth, bookings, and pipeline development.
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue manufacturing and modular MEP opportunities.
  • Lead opportunities from initial engagement through proposal, negotiation, and award.

Customer, OEM & Partner Development

  • Build and maintain relationships with:

    • Owners and clients across target market sectors
    • OEMs supporting solutions beyond Harris' direct scope
    • Strategic manufacturing, fabrication, and specialty trade partners
  • Collaborate with manufacturing leadership to develop a partner ecosystem that enables Harris to deliver integrated modular solutions beyond its in-house capabilities.

  • Support joint pursuit strategies with customers, OEMs, and strategic partners.

Market Development & Growth Strategy

  • Expand Harris' presence within target markets, geographic regions, and strategic accounts.
  • Support entry into new industry segments and emerging markets.
  • Partner with Marketing to position Harris as a leader in industrialized & modular MEP systems.
  • Educate customers and industry stakeholders on the value of manufacturing-driven delivery.

Product & Market Intelligence

  • Gather customer and market intelligence to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and threats.
  • Provide market feedback to division and executive leadership to support product strategy, product roadmaps, and future offerings.

  • Proven track record of developing new business opportunities and delivering revenue growth.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing, fabrication, construction, or industrial systems.
  • Ability to build relationships across customers, OEMs, manufacturers, and strategic partners.
  • Strong commercial, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across engineering, ops, supply chain, and executive leadership teams.
