Director, Manufacturing Operations

For our client, we are seeking a Director, Manufacturing Operations to join the team of a leader in the Consumer Technology space.

This leader will oversee manufacturing operations for critical product lines, bringing together program management, technical operations, and quality into a unified operating model. The role will focus on improving launch readiness, product quality, and execution discipline across suppliers and internal partners. This is a highly cross-functional position with visibility to senior leadership, requiring strong collaboration on the factory floor and in executive reporting.

Location: San Jose, CA - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $350,000 – $400,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Lead program planning and supplier execution for critical product lines
• Integrate Program Management, Technical Operations, and Quality into one model
• Ensure clear reporting to executives on project statuses
• Improve launch speed and product quality with repeatable processes
• Support vendors with production readiness and risk assessments
• Drive capacity planning and resolve supplier escalations on the factory floor
• Oversee NPI development and ensure engineering validation

Qualifications

• 10+ years in operations, technical program management, or manufacturing leadership
• Deep knowledge of manufacturing processes like FATP and SMT
• Proven track record in supplier collaboration for improvements
• Experience with DFx, automation, and packaging optimization
• Strong leadership skills for influencing global teams
• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
• Experience using AI tools in operations, including generative AI
