Director of Nursing

About the Role

We're recruiting a Director of Nursing for a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in Ocean County, New Jersey. The facility is focused on giving residents a safe, welcoming, and comfortable home, and its team values collaboration, professionalism, and compassion. As DON, you'll lead the nursing department and oversee all nursing operations: quality of care, clinical staffing, regulatory compliance, and the nursing budget. You'll work closely with the medical staff and other department heads, and you'll be the clinical leader residents and families rely on.

This role is for an experienced long-term care nurse leader who knows how to run a compliant, survey-ready building and keep a nursing team steady.

What You'll Do

• Lead the nursing department and all clinical staff.
• Make sure resident care and nursing practice meet federal, state, and facility standards.
• Oversee nurse hiring, onboarding, and scheduling, and maintain required staffing ratios around the clock.
• Monitor care through daily rounds, enforce infection control, and investigate accidents and incidents.
• Drive continuous quality improvement across the clinical department.
• Screen prospective residents to confirm the facility can meet their care needs.
• Partner with medical staff and other departments to create a supportive environment for residents.
• Resolve complaints and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, staff, and the community.
• Manage the nursing department budget and resources cost-effectively.

What You'll Bring

• Active New Jersey RN license.
• BSN.
• 3+ years of nursing leadership experience in long-term care or a skilled nursing facility.
• Prior experience as a DON or ADON. [Preferred]
• Working knowledge of CMS and New Jersey DOH regulations and the survey process.
