Director of Operations

Behind it all is a passionate team that takes pride in its work. We are looking for an entrepreneurial, hands-on Director of Operations to take our operations to the next level.

Your role

Reporting to the Managing Director, you are responsible for the overall operational performance of The Kontiki Resort & Beach Clubs. You link strategy to daily operations, and you are visible on the floor, especially when it matters most. You lead our department heads, raise standards across every guest touchpoint and deliver strong, sustainable business results.

What you'll do

• Provide strategic leadership across all operational departments and oversee daily resort and beach club operations
• Develop, implement and monitor the resort-wide operational plan, policies and service standards
• Ensure consistently high guest satisfaction and continuously improve the guest journey, including VIP and special arrangements
• Lead, coach and develop department heads, and build strong, engaged, high-performing teams
• Take ownership of operational financial performance, including revenue, costs, labor, budgets and profitability
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, environmental and regulatory requirements
• Work closely with Sales & Marketing, HR, owners, suppliers and other stakeholders
• Drive continuous improvement and lead change initiatives that create long-term value
• Take overall operational responsibility when the Managing Director is absent

What you bring

• A bachelor's or master's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration or a related field
• At least 7 years of progressive experience in hospitality operations, including at least 3 years at senior management or director level
• Proven experience running complex, multi-department operations, ideally in a resort, hotel, beach club or luxury setting
• Strong knowledge of Rooms Division, Front Office, Housekeeping, F&B, Maintenance, Recreation and Security
• Solid financial skills, including budgeting, forecasting, labor cost control and revenue management
• A track record in change management, process improvement and developing management teams
• A commercial, entrepreneurial mindset combined with sound decision-making under pressure
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
• Fluency in English; Dutch, Spanish and/or Papiamentu is a strong advantage
