About This Role

We are seeking a Director of Engineering to lead BSP and AOSP software engineering for automotive infotainment platforms. Based in Taiwan, this leader will define technology roadmaps, develop engineering capabilities and oversee delivery across multiple software teams.

The role combines technical leadership in Android and embedded platforms with responsibility for resource planning, software quality, delivery performance and stakeholder management.

Key responsibilities include:

• Define the domain’s technical roadmap and resource strategy in alignment with global product priorities.
• Lead end-to-end software development, covering requirements, architecture, high-level and detailed design, implementation and unit testing.
• Oversee multiple Agile/Scrum teams, ensuring delivery against quality, cost and timing commitments.
• Provide technical direction across Android Framework, AOSP, BSP, system services, hardware abstraction layers and platform integration.
• Guide platform and SoC bring-up, board-level troubleshooting, and boot, power and performance optimization.
• Lead program reviews, monitor delivery metrics, manage risks and resolve technical escalations.
• Collaborate with global engineering teams, OEM customers and internal stakeholders to align requirements and delivery commitments.
• Improve engineering tools, methods and processes to strengthen quality, efficiency and consistency across locations.
• Drive practical AI initiatives within the engineering organization.
• Develop engineering talent, strengthen technical competencies and build leadership capability.

What We Are Looking For

• At least 15 years of software development and delivery experience, including 10 years in embedded software development using C, C++ and/or Java.
• A minimum of five years of management-level engineering leadership.
• At least five years of architecture experience involving complex in-vehicle infotainment or mobile embedded systems.
• Deep expertise in Android Framework, AOSP, Android internals, system services, HAL, HIDL/AIDL and Binder IPC.
• Strong knowledge of Android Automotive OS, infotainment architecture, multimedia, connectivity and vehicle integration.
• Hands-on experience with BSP software, platform and SoC bring-up, and schematic- and board-level debugging.
• Familiarity with USB, PCIe, SPI, I²C and UART interfaces, and NAND, eMMC and UFS storage.
• Experience developing kernel modules, HAL components, system services and customized Android platforms and builds.
• Understanding of platform power, state and health management, including watchdogs and reset handling.
• Experience with boot-time, power-consumption and system-performance profiling and optimization.
• Practical experience leading AI initiatives within engineering teams.
• Knowledge of Automotive SPICE, Agile/Scrum delivery, UML-based design techniques and electrical schematics/layouts.

Additional experience in the following areas would be advantageous:

• Automotive V-model development, vehicle networking and HIL/SIL testing.
• SOME/IP, DDS or comparable communication protocols.
• Continuous integration, application lifecycle management tools, scripting and build systems such as CMake or Bazel.
• Cryptographic protocols, key management, chain-of-trust mechanisms and anti-spoofing techniques.
• Broader operating-system, backend, mobile or integrated cloud/embedded development.
