Director, Operations & Procurement

We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to oversee the Operations and Procurement functions across our network of nursing homes.

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence, strengthening organisational performance, leading transformation initiatives, and ensuring robust procurement and governance practices that support the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Organisational Performance

• Lead the development and execution of operational strategies aligned with organisational goals and growth plans.
• Drive service excellence, organisational transformation, productivity improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, and operational excellence.

Operations Leadership

• Provide strategic oversight of operations across nursing homes .
• Enhance operational performance, service quality, occupancy, resident satisfaction, and organisational KPIs.
• Drive consistency, best practices, and operational effectiveness across all facilities.
• Lead business continuity, crisis preparedness, and operational risk management initiatives.

Procurement & Contract Governance

• Lead the organisation's procurement strategy, governance framework, and sourcing activities.
• Oversee tender management, contract negotiations, vendor selection, and supplier performance management.
• Drive value-for-money procurement outcomes and cost optimisation initiatives.
• Strengthen procurement governance and contract management practices to support operational effectiveness.

Governance, Compliance & Corporate Services

• Ensure compliance with regulatory, licensing, governance, and statutory requirements.
• Lead organisational readiness for audits, inspections, and accreditation reviews.
• Provide oversight of facilities, support services, asset management, and major capital projects.
• Support new facility developments, expansion initiatives, and operational readiness programmes.

Stakeholder & People Leadership

• Build strong partnerships with government agencies, healthcare institutions, community partners, and service providers.
• Lead and develop high-performing teams across operations and procurement.
• Drive succession planning, talent development, and leadership capability building across the organisation.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in any discipline.
• Possess at least 15 years of progressive leadership experience, including 5 years in a senior leadership role within healthcare or related sectors.
• Proven track record in leading multi-site operations and managing complex healthcare or community care organisations.
• Strong strategic, financial, operational, and project management capabilities, with experience driving organisational performance and transformation.
• Demonstrated ability to build partnerships, influence stakeholders, and lead high-performing teams.
• A hands-on and solutions-driven leader with the ability to balance strategic thinking with operational realities.
• Passionate about continuous improvement and innovation, with the courage to challenge conventional practices and enhance care quality, service delivery, and organisational outcomes.
