Taylor Hopkinson is seeking a Director of Procurement with experience in Onshore Wind in the US for our client which is a global infrastructure investment firm focused on the energy transition, deploying large-scale institutional capital into utility-scale renewable energy assets such as offshore and onshore wind, solar, battery storage, and emerging green fuels like hydrogen. It is active across Europe and North America, with a strong presence in large offshore wind and grid-scale renewable energy investments.

Team The Procurement Director joins the Americas Procurement team, reporting to the VP Procurement, Americas, to support large-scale renewable projects across the Americas. The role works closely with Development, Engineering, Construction, Investment, Asset Management, and Legal.

Role This role focuses on procuring wind turbines for onshore wind projects, owning the Turbine Supply Agreements (TSAs) and Full Service Agreements (FSAs) or O&M agreements for each project, with Solar PV and BESS as additional scope. It is a procurement-focused role covering commercial strategy, OEM engagement, and the highest-value contract negotiations. It is remote, with about 25% travel to OEM facilities, project sites, and company offices.

Responsibilities will consist of but are not limited to:

  • Lead the negotiation and contracting of Turbine Supply Agreements (TSAs) and Full Service Agreements (FSAs) or O&M agreements with global wind OEMs, including pricing, delivery timelines, warranties, availability guarantees, and performance guarantees
  • Oversee the full sourcing process for wind turbine generators (WTGs), from RFIs and RFPs through bid assessment, negotiation, and contract award
  • Manage the interface between turbine supply and long-term service agreements so that warranties, power curve and availability guarantees, LDs, and risk allocation align across the asset lifecycle
  • Balance upfront CAPEX against lifetime service costs to optimize total cost of ownership and project returns
  • Own senior-level relationships with strategic wind OEMs and suppliers, including capacity reservations and framework agreements, to ensure supply security and long-term competitiveness
  • Support, and where required lead, the procurement of PV modules and BESS, including associated supply and long-term service agreements
  • Coordinate with Legal, Engineering, and Tax teams on risk allocation, LDs, technical guarantees, and contract interfaces, including tariff, domestic content, and foreign entity of concern (FEOC) provisions
  • Monitor wind market trends, OEM supply chain dynamics, lead times, and pricing benchmarks, and advise senior leadership accordingly
  • Identify and manage portfolio-level procurement risks including delivery risk, supplier concentration, and regulatory and trade exposure
  • Support investment processes including procurement input into FID decisions and investment committee materials
  • Act as procurement lead for assigned projects, coordinating cross-functional stakeholders, managing internal approval stage gate process

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain, business, or a related field (advanced degree a plus)
  • 8+ years of experience in procurement, commercial, or contract management, with a significant portion in renewable energy
  • Essential: Hands-on experience negotiating and managing TSAs and FSAs or O&M agreements for onshore wind
  • Track record of leading complex, high-value negotiations with global wind turbine OEMs
  • Experience setting procurement strategy at portfolio or program level
  • Strong commercial judgment, with experience in risk allocation and contract structuring
  • Solar PV and/or BESS procurement experience is a strong advantage
  • Working understanding of U.S. tariff, domestic content, and FEOC requirements for equipment sourcing
  • Comfortable working remotely and traveling approximately 25% of the time

Key Attributes

  • Strategic thinker with strong commercial judgment and risk-based decision-making
  • Executive presence and effective stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead without direct authority
  • Structured, methodical, and detail-oriented
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing, and partially defined environment
  • Able to balance cost optimization with long-term asset performance
  • Works on own initiative and collaborates well with the project team
