Director of Professional Development, Innovation and Research We are seeking an accomplished Director of Professional Development, Innovation and Research to advance our mission of delivering innovative, compassionate nursing care. This pivotal role provides strategic, operational, and fiscal leadership for all facets of the Professional Development, Innovation and Research Department, ensuring positive learning experiences for the healthcare community as well as promoting the sharing of expertise. As the Director of Professional Development, Innovation and Research, a typical day may include:

• Directing daily operations of the Professional Development, Innovation and Research Department, including the development and evaluation of educational programming.
• Creates and promotes an environment conducive to teamwork and performance improvement and participates actively in meetings and projects to improve quality service.
• Coordinates and ensures that all nursing division employees receive a comprehensive orientation and evaluates orientation process on a regular basis.
• Develops and implements policies and procedures that guide and support those services for all professional development, innovation and research initiatives.
• In conjunction with Senior Nursing management, develops and education agenda to support the strategic plan.
• Coordinates new programs to help in the development of our staff at RWJBarnabas Health System.
• Developing, implementing, and evaluating policies and procedures to meet regulatory, accreditation, safety, and infection control standards.
• Overseeing budget development and financial stewardship, optimizing resource allocation without compromising quality.

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have an active New Jersey RN license and a minimum of a Master’s degree in Nursing, DNP or PhD in nursing strongly preferred. A minimum of 5 years of recent nursing leadership within acute care setting including strategic planning, performance improvement, policy development, research, analytics, benchmarking and report writing. is required, preferably within a large health system or academic medical center.
