PMO Director: Program Management, Delivery Operations & Financial Governance

Location: Fully remote; Eastern or Central time preferred

Target Base Salary: $140,000–$150,000

A growing, private equity-backed cybersecurity advisory and technology services firm is seeking a PMO Director to establish and run program management operations for its professional services team.

This is a hands-on role for someone who can build strong client relationships and drive execution . You’ll lead engagement governance, keep delivery teams accountable to scope and milestones, and maintain visibility into project financial performance. You’ll also turn developing PMO frameworks into practical processes that support continued growth.

The role starts with no direct reports and offers significant visibility with executive leadership and the Board.

Responsibilities

• Own governance across advisory and delivery engagements, from SOW intake through delivery and financial close.
• Partner with clients and internal teams to align expectations, communicate progress, and resolve delivery issues.
• Lead sales-to-delivery handoffs, translating scope, deliverables, assumptions, and fees into actionable project plans.
• Drive execution by tracking milestones, dependencies, risks, and accountability across engagements.
• Own project budget, P&L, and margin tracking, flagging scope creep and financial variances early.
• Monitor billable and non-billable utilization and manage capacity planning to inform staffing and hiring.
• Partner with Finance on services revenue recognition and reconciliation of actuals against contracted fees and hours.
• Manage change orders and ensure updates flow accurately into scope, budgets, and billing.
• Build and maintain PMO processes, templates, and playbooks.
• Develop dashboards and report project health, financial performance, and delivery risks to leadership and the Board.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in project/program management or PMO within professional services, consulting, or technical delivery.
• Strong client-facing skills and hands-on ownership of execution.
• Experience managing project financials, SOWs, change orders, utilization, and resource planning.
• Working knowledge of services revenue recognition.
• Experience building or standardizing PMO processes.
• Familiarity with PSA/project management tools and strong Excel/reporting skills.
• Cybersecurity or IT services experience, PMP/PgMP certification, and PE-backed company experience are pluses.
