Director, R&D Portfolio Program Management

For our client, we are seeking a Director, R&D Portfolio Program Management to join the team of a leader in the Healthcare space.

This leader will oversee a portfolio of research and development initiatives, driving disciplined program execution across global product development efforts. The role partners closely with cross-functional teams to align priorities, manage governance, and ensure resources are focused on the highest-value opportunities. You will also guide project management leaders, strengthen portfolio visibility, and support effective decision-making from concept through development.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $175,000 – $220,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of project managers to support effective project execution
• Contribute to the portfolio management vision as a member of the project management leadership team
• Develop global product development strategies with cross-functional teams
• Facilitate governance board meetings for project oversight and decision-making
• Manage portfolio budgets and prioritize initiatives to maximize value

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry and R&D project management
• BS/BA in Science or Engineering; advanced degree preferred
• PMP certification and Agile methodologies preferred
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Proven expertise in process improvement initiatives
