Director, Retail Technology – Global Consultancy - London

Salary: Up to £135,000 | Location: London (3 days a week in the office, the rest from home)

About the role

Our client is a global consultancy specialising in business change and transformation. They are hiring a Director to lead their digital technology advisory team within the EMEA Tech & Data practice, working with Retail clients. The role combines delivery and sales: you will lead client work and build a strong pipeline of new opportunities alongside the senior sales team.

What you’ll do

• Lead the digital technology advisory team, aligning technology operating models with business strategy.
• Develop digital technology strategies, roadmaps and architecture plans for Retail clients, covering technology selection and assurance.
• Advise C-suite executives, turning business needs into practical technical strategies.
• Assess, design and implement technology operating models using frameworks such as TOGAF, SAFe, DevOps and Design Thinking.
• Set up governance frameworks that protect architectural integrity across engagements.
• Grow existing client relationships and win new ones, from lead identification through proposals to final negotiation.
• Contribute to thought leadership on Retail application portfolio strategy, rationalisation, architecture modernisation and software selection.
• Coach and develop your team.

What you’ll need

• Strong Retail technology experience in consulting, with a track record of delivering business-led IT change in medium to large enterprises.
• Proven business development experience, including working with senior sellers and converting opportunities into revenue.
• Experience building multi-year technology roadmaps that support growth, compliance and simplification.
• Knowledge of emerging Retail technologies (AI, cloud, data analytics), ideally across Loyalty, Channels and Commercial.
• Strong presentation and facilitation skills for both technical and C-level audiences.
• TOGAF certification or an equivalent Enterprise Architecture qualification (desirable).
• The right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship, now or in the future.
