Director, Security Assurance and Compliance

For our client, we are seeking a Director, Security Assurance and Compliance to join the team of a leader in the Enterprise Technology space.

This leader will own a critical security assurance and compliance function that strengthens trust across the organization’s technology operations and customer commitments. The role will drive automated control monitoring, continuous evidence collection, and risk governance in close partnership with engineering, security, and business stakeholders. A key focus will be balancing regulatory rigor with practical execution while elevating the team’s ability to support scalable, audit-ready compliance practices.

The position also calls for independent judgment in security reviews, strong oversight of third-party and business continuity risk, and leadership that helps shift the organization toward more automated and efficient compliance processes.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $204,000 – $326,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Build and manage continuous controls monitoring and automated evidence collection
• Oversee organizational security risk, third-party vendor risk, and business continuity governance
• Maintain the integrity of the evidence base for customer-facing trust materials and reviews
• Act as an independent reviewer, challenging engineering teams objectively in security assessments
• Mentor and develop the security compliance team to support a cultural shift toward automated compliance

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading a security assurance or risk transformation program
• Strong command of regulatory frameworks including PCI, SOC, SOX, and ISO
• Track record of implementing automated controls and continuous evidence collection
• Ability to balance regulatory demands with engineering realities
• Experience managing a team of security, risk, or compliance professionals
