About the Opportunity:

The DIRECTOR, SOFTWARE ENGINEERING will lead efforts to transition and operate data pipelines on an enterprise data platform while driving engineering excellence in the team. This role is responsible for integrating AI-assisted engineering tools to enhance development efficiency and code quality, guiding offshore teams in data onboarding and technical standards, and supporting data mastering and semantic modeling initiatives. The position plays a critical role in advancing data platform capabilities, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards, and influencing technical decisions to support trusted and discoverable data assets.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and execute transition of data pipelines to the enterprise data platform, establishing repeatable engineering patterns.
• Lead adoption of AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering velocity and code quality.
• Provide technical direction to offshore teams on data onboarding patterns for diverse data assets.
• Support integration of data pipelines with the enterprise data mastering platform, establishing quality controls.
• Promote semantic modeling practices to ensure consistent business definitions and data discoverability.
• Serve as a senior technical expert, influencing architecture and providing guidance through design and code reviews.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms, cloud data architecture, or related fields.
• Proven senior technical roles such as lead engineer, principal engineer, architect, or equivalent in complex data platform environments.
• Expertise in modern data engineering with experience on Databricks and lakehouse architectures.
• Practical experience with AI-assisted engineering tools (e.g., Claude, GitHub CoPilot, LLMs) applied to development tasks.
• Willingness to attend at least one in-person interview at the nearest company office if reaching the final interview stage.

Preferred:

• Knowledge of enterprise data cataloging, metadata management, and semantic data layers.
• Experience with data mastering workflows involving consolidation, cleansing, and enrichment.
• Understanding of semantic modeling to enhance data governance and consumption.
• Strong leadership skills including coaching and building consensus among diverse teams.

Pay Range and Compensation Package:

• The anticipated base salary range for this position is $110,000 to $225,000, dependent on geographic location, experience, skills, training, and certifications.
• Eligibility for an annual incentive plan.
