Director, Software Engineering - Team Art Locker Platform

For our client, we are seeking a Director, Software Engineering - Team Art Locker Platform to join the team of a leader in the Media space.

This leader will guide backend engineering efforts that support a fast-moving media business, with a strong emphasis on delivery discipline, technical quality, and team development.

The role will be responsible for building a high-performing engineering organization, strengthening onboarding and coaching practices, and partnering closely with senior architects and product management to keep multiple workstreams on track.

Success in this position will come from combining hands-on engineering leadership with a focus on operational excellence, continuous improvement, and scalable team execution.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $138,000 – $165,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing backend engineering team
• Design and implement structured onboarding for fast new hire integration
• Create individual development plans and mentorship programs for engineers
• Establish best practices for code review, testing, and CI/CD
• Oversee delivery of backend workstreams and ensure operational discipline
• Maintain communication with senior architects and product management

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 8+ years of software engineering experience
• 4+ years in a leadership role managing software engineers
• Demonstrated success in talent development and coaching
• Hands-on background in code review and engineering coaching
• Experience with Agile delivery for multiple workstreams
