Disability Support Worker – Bundoora, VIC

Direct Care Assistance is seeking compassionate, reliable, and experienced Support Workers to provide person-centred care to a participant living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in Bundoora, Victoria.

This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a participant’s daily life by supporting their personal care, comfort, independence, and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care and repositioning.
• Perform hoist transfers safely and appropriately.
• Provide medication prompting as required.
• Assist with meal preparation.
• Provide light domestic assistance.
• Monitor and accurately record urine output.
• Assist with feeding and caring for the participant’s small dog.
• Provide companionship and social support.
• Maintain clear communication and accurate documentation.
• Follow the participant’s care plan and organisational policies.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience in disability support or aged care.
• Practical experience with manual handling and hoist transfers.
• Experience providing personal care.
• Comfortable working in a home with a small dog.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable, professional, and compassionate approach to care.
• Ability to follow care plans and maintain accurate records.

Shift times:

• Morning: 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM
• Afternoon: 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
• Evening: 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Pay: $34.44 – $36.22 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 6.0 per week
