At We Care Providers, you’ll be part of a team that genuinely changes lives, supporting people with complex needs to live safely, independently, and with dignity.
We are growing across Melbourne’s North and are seeking confident, experienced support workers who can support participants with complex psychosocial and behavioural needs.
This is not basic support work. We are looking for staff who are calm under pressure, emotionally intelligent, and confident supporting people during challenging moments.
Why staff choose to stay with us
- Hourly rate $38–$42 plus applicable SCHADS Award penalty rates, dependent on experience, qualifications, and role requirements.
- Consistent shifts available for reliable workers, subject to participant needs and roster requirements
- Travel reimbursement paid between participant shifts in line with company policy
- Ongoing paid training in behaviour support
- Supportive management team available when you need help
- Opportunity to grow into senior or specialist roles
- A workplace that genuinely values and supports staff
About the role
You will support participants in their homes and community settings, working from structured behaviour support and care plans.
Your support may include:
- Personal care and daily living assistance
- Medication assistance and health-related supports
- Meal preparation and household support
- Community access and skill development
- Supporting participants during emotional or behavioural distress using positive behaviour strategies
- Accurate progress and incident documentation
- Building trust while maintaining professional boundaries
You may work independently on shift but will always have management support and clear guidance.

- Has experience supporting participants with complex behaviours or psychosocial disabilities
- Remains calm and professional in challenging situations
- Understands behaviour support plans and de-escalation strategies
- Is reliable and wants consistent ongoing work
- Wants to build a meaningful long-term career in disability support
Mandatory requirements
- NDIS Worker Screening Check

We are particularly seeking support workers with reliable SUVs, as some of our participants use wheelchairs and require suitable vehicles for community access and appointments.
Shift availability
We have weekday, evening, overnight, and weekend shifts available across Essendon and surrounding northern suburbs.
Reliable staff are prioritised for ongoing shift opportunities
Note: We encourage all applicants. However, some participants request female support workers for personal care and cultural reasons, so we particularly welcome applications from female candidates.
