Disability Support Worker

The role

As a Disability Support Worker, you'll work alongside participants to help them achieve their goals. Day to day, this may include: 

• Supporting personal care, daily living and household tasks
• Assisting with community access, social activities and employment goals
• Supporting medication prompts and health routines.
• Building positive, respectful relationships with participants and their families
• Documenting shift notes and following each participant's support plan

About you;

• 1 + years' experience in disability support, aged care or community services
• Confident supporting participants with complex needs / behaviours of concern.
• Strong documentation, reporting and incident-management skills
• Ability to work independently and mentor newer team members

Essential requirements  

• A current Australian driver’s licence (minimum P2)
• A Working with Children Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain them.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain.
• Rights to work in Australia
• Availability and flexibility to work a variety of shifts across a 7-day roster, including the ability to complete a minimum of two sleepover shifts per fortnight. Common roster of care: 6am – 2pm, 2pm -10pm and a sleepover shift 10pm-6am.
