Disability Support Worker – Part-Time & Casual

At iCare4U Support Services, we support people with disability to live with greater independence, dignity and choice. We are seeking reliable, qualified Disability Support Workers to provide person-centred support to clients in Doveton and Dandenong.

You must have at least one year of hands-on disability support experience involving regular personal care and manual handling duties. Practical competence in both areas is essential.

Applicants of all genders are welcome. Only local applicants living within 30 km of Doveton or Dandenong who meet all essential requirements below will be considered.

Local Applicants Only

We are seeking applicants from Doveton, Dandenong and nearby suburbs, including Eumemmerring, Hallam, Endeavour Hills, Hampton Park, Narre Warren, Dandenong North, Dandenong South, Noble Park, Keysborough and Lynbrook.

You must be able to travel reliably to clients’ homes using your own vehicle.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive personal care, including showering, toileting, continence support, dressing and grooming, while respecting each client’s privacy and dignity.
• Assist with safe manual handling, including transfers, repositioning and mobility support, using prescribed equipment and following individual care plans and safe handling procedures.
• Support clients with domestic tasks, meal preparation, transport and community participation.
• Encourage independence, choice and decision-making in everyday activities.
• Maintain accurate digital progress notes and promptly report changes, incidents or concerns to the care coordinator.

Essential Requirements

• Minimum one year of hands-on disability support experience involving both personal care and manual handling.
• Demonstrated confidence and competence in personal care, safe transfers, repositioning and mobility assistance, including using hoists and transfer aids where required.
• Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Aged Care or Community Services.
• Completed Manual Handling training, with the ability to apply safe practices during client support.
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check and Police Check.
• Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
• Completed NDIS Worker Orientation and Infection Prevention and Control training.
• Valid Australian driver licence, a reliable insured vehicle and willingness to use it for work-related travel.
• Australian working rights.
• A smartphone and confidence using digital rostering and progress-note systems.
• Strong communication, professional boundaries, reliability and availability for regular shifts.
• Residence within 30 km of Doveton or Dandenong and reliable travel to these locations.

Pay: In accordance with the applicable SCHADS Award classification and employment type, plus superannuation and applicable penalties and allowances.

Pay: $32.00 – $38.00 per hour
