What they need

Harry’s House was built to provide an environment where children and young people can be safe to explore their capabilities, and to give families and carers the opportunity to strengthen and revitalise.

We offer:

  • Respite in a personalised and non traditional way. Delivering individualised programs that meet the needs, goals, and interests of each Participant. We currently have three locations and shifts will be across all of them. Martin 6110, Roleystone 6111 and Bedfordale 6112.

  • In-home support, bringing that same high quality of care into our participant's homes.

  • School-based support for medically complex participants.

To help us deliver on our belief, we are searching for dedicated team members who are happy to work day and night shifts. We expect our team members to be respectful, enthusiastic and responsible. This is a casual position, we can’t currently guarantee fixed shifts as they are dependent on our Participants’ needs, but we do roster monthly in a timely manner.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-on-one care to children and young people;
  • Completion of medical and daily activity documentation;
  • Performing high care assistance - suctioning, PEG feeding, tracheostomy care;
  • Participant collection and drop off - sometimes from school or home;
  • Supporting participants to attend medical appointments;
  • Using hoists and other assistive equipment;
  • Covering shifts across the whole week, including weekends and awake and inactive overnight shifts;
  • Maintaining a current WA drivers' licence.

The ideal candidate will have (having all of these would certainly be an advantage however they are not mandatory):

  • Previous experience working with children;
  • Experience working in disability;
  • Tracheostomy training;
  • Experience with challenging behaviours;
  • Right to work in Australia

You will also need to be able to obtain (before commencing solo shifts):

  • First Aid and CPR Training;
  • NDIS Worker Screening; and
  • Working with Children Clearance

So, if you have a passion for caring and would like to work for a recognised and awarded industry leader, we welcome you to apply.

Please be mindful that we receive several hundred applications and thoroughly review each one. If you do not hear back from us immediately please be patient, we are working on it.

Other offers great for you!
