Disability Support Worker (DSW)

Person-centred support for residents with disability in aged care and disability-adjacent settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred support in line with individual care plans
• Assist with daily living
• Support access to activities and appointments
• Help build independent living skills
• Administer medications where authorised
• Maintain records
• Communicate with residents, families, and care coordinators
• Follow behaviour support plans
• Uphold dignity and choice
• Comply with facility policies and care standards

Requirements

• Cert III in Individual Support (Disability) or Cert IV in Disability
• Disability support experience
• Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check
• National Police Check
• WWCC
• Current driver’s licence and vehicle
• Valid working rights
• First Aid/CPR
• Current flu vaccination

Desirable

• Complex behaviours/mental health experience
• Medication administration competency
• Assistive technology experience
• Restrictive practices training
