Disability Support Worker – SIL

About the role

As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide high-quality daily support to participants living within our Applecross SIL home. You will work closely with participants, families, support coordinators, healthcare professionals and the Fairability Services team to promote independence, safety and quality of life.

Key responsibilities

• Provide respectful and person-centred personal care, including showering, dressing, grooming and toileting.
• Assist participants with hoist transfers and manual handling in accordance with their support plans.
• Support participants with mobility, positioning and daily living activities.
• Assist with medication in accordance with organisational policies and participant medication plans.
• Support meal preparation, household duties and maintaining a safe and clean living environment.
• Assist participants with community access, appointments, shopping and social activities where required.
• Encourage participant independence, choice and decision-making.
• Follow individual care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support strategies.
• Maintain accurate progress notes, incident reports and other required documentation.
• Communicate professionally with participants, families, management and other members of the care team.

About you

• NDIS Worker Screening Check
• National Police Clearance
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Current CPR Certificate
• Manual Handling training
• Demonstrated hoist experience
• Previous experience providing personal care
• Current Australian Driver's Licence
• Reliable transport
• Current Australian work rights

Pay: $42.00 – $57.29 per hour
