Discovery / Scan Lead

Description

The Discovery / Scan Lead is in charge of technical discovery activities used to identify and validate cryptographic dependencies across approved customer systems. The role plans safe discovery activities, configures tools, supervises scan execution and ensures that collected evidence is technically reliable.

Responsibilities

• Discovery Planning & Preparation: Selecting appropriate discovery methods based on target systems, available access and required evidence depth. Defining prerequisites, approved targets, access requirements, scan windows, credentials, whitelisting and safe operating procedures.
• Technical Discovery: Configuring and supervising network-based, authenticated and system-assisted cryptographic discovery.
• Tool Coordination: Working with tool vendors on configuration, safe scan profiles, troubleshooting, licensing and result export.
• Evidence Validation: Reviewing scan results, checking evidence quality and reconciling discovered information against existing inventory records.
• External Supervision: Supervising outsourced scan engineers and ensuring that discovery work follows approved procedures and technical boundaries.

Requirements

• Background in cybersecurity engineering, network security or similar areas.
• Experience with network discovery and controlled scanning, as well as credentialed or authenticated assessment methods.
• Good knowledge of TLS, SSH, certificates and common cryptographic configurations.
• Understanding of safe scanning procedures, change control and production-system constraints.
• Ability to supervise technical personnel and troubleshoot discovery activities.
