Duties

• Thoroughly wash dishes, glassware, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment using proper dishwashing techniques and sanitizing procedures
• Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic chopping, portioning, or ingredient handling under supervision
• Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas by sweeping, mopping, wiping down surfaces, and disposing of waste in accordance with sanitation standards
• Support bussing duties by clearing tables promptly and assisting servers during busy service times to ensure smooth table turnover
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and responsibly, including dishwashers, sinks, and other small appliances
• Follow food safety management protocols and sanitation guidelines to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations
• Assist with heavy lifting tasks such as moving supplies or equipment to support kitchen operations

Skills

• Strong understanding of food safety sanitizing procedures and sanitation standards in a restaurant environment
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking
• Basic food preparation skills and familiarity with kitchen equipment operation
• Experience in food service or restaurant settings is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential
• Excellent attention to detail for cleaning, food handling, and maintaining hygiene standards
• Good communication skills to work effectively with team members and support servers when needed
• Knowledge of kitchen health and safety standards to ensure a safe working environment
