Duties

• Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to thoroughly clean dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen tools in accordance with food safety sanitizing procedures
• Assist with food preparation tasks when needed, including basic ingredient handling and setup
• Bypass dirty dishes efficiently by bussing tables and clearing plates to maintain cleanliness in dining areas
• Follow strict sanitation standards to ensure the kitchen meets health and safety regulations
• Handle manual lifting of heavy pots, pans, and boxes safely while adhering to proper lifting techniques
• Support the cleaning of kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas to uphold sanitation standards
• Assist with food handling tasks during busy service times to support overall restaurant operations

Requirements

• Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not mandatory; a willingness to learn is essential
• Knowledge of food safety management and sanitation practices is highly desirable
• Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Strong manual handling skills with the ability to lift heavy items regularly
• Familiarity with kitchen health and safety standards, including proper knife skills for basic prep support if needed
• Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude in fast-paced settings
• Prior banquet or catering experience is a plus but not required
