Duties

• Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to clean dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen tools efficiently
• Follow food safety sanitizing procedures to ensure all items meet health standards
• Assist with basic food preparation tasks as needed to support kitchen staff
• Bypass or manually handle heavy items such as large pots or crates of supplies with proper technique to prevent injury
• Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing stations, sinks, and surrounding areas throughout your shift
• Support bussing duties by clearing tables and transporting used dishware to the dishwashing area
• Adhere strictly to kitchen health and safety standards, including proper handling of food and cleaning chemicals

Skills

• Knowledge of food safety management and sanitation practices in a restaurant or catering environment
• Ability to operate kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, sinks, and cleaning tools safely and effectively
• Strong manual handling skills for heavy lifting and moving bulky items
• Experience with food handling, food safety procedures, and maintaining hygiene standards
• Familiarity with kitchen health and safety standards specific to hospitality settings
• Basic knife skills can be beneficial for assisting with light food prep tasks
• Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is valued
