Responsibilities

• Thoroughly wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment using appropriate cleaning methods and sanitizing procedures.
• Ensure all food preparation areas, dishware, and kitchen tools are kept clean, sanitized, and organized in compliance with food safety standards.
• Assist with bussing tables and clearing dining areas during service to support overall restaurant operations.
• Handle manual tasks such as lifting heavy pots or boxes of supplies safely and efficiently.
• Operate basic kitchen equipment like dishwashers, sinks, and cleaning tools following safety protocols.
• Follow proper food handling procedures to prevent cross-contamination and ensure sanitation throughout the kitchen.
• Support the culinary team with light food preparation tasks when needed and maintain a clean workspace at all times.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm to learn is highly valued.
• Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and sanitation standards within a commercial kitchen setting.
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting of dish racks or supplies.
• Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment such as commercial dishwashers and sinks.
• Strong understanding of kitchen health and safety standards to maintain a safe working environment.
• Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
• Basic knife skills or culinary experience is a plus but not mandatory; willingness to develop these skills is appreciated.
