Job Summary

SUGARFISH by sushi nozawa is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Dishwasher to support daily restaurant operations. The ideal candidate will maintain clean and sanitized dishes, utensils, cookware, kitchen equipment, and work areas while helping the kitchen team operate efficiently during busy service periods.

Key Responsibilities

• Wash, rinse, sanitize, and properly store dishes, glasses, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment.
• Maintain a steady supply of clean dishes and kitchen equipment throughout service.
• Load and operate commercial dishwashing equipment safely and properly.
• Hand-wash items that require special care.
• Keep dishwashing and kitchen areas clean, organized, and sanitary.
• Clean and sanitize sinks, counters, floors, and surrounding work areas as assigned.
• Remove trash, food waste, and recycling from designated areas.
• Assist kitchen staff with basic cleaning and food preparation tasks when needed.
• Restock clean dishes, utensils, containers, and kitchen supplies.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Handle cleaning chemicals and equipment according to established safety guidelines.
• Report damaged equipment, broken dishes, supply shortages, or safety concerns to management.
• Support cooks and other kitchen team members during busy service periods.
• Assist with opening, closing, and end-of-shift cleaning duties.
• Perform other kitchen and restaurant duties assigned by management.

Requirements

• Previous dishwasher, kitchen, restaurant, or food service experience is preferred but not required.
• Strong attention to cleanliness and sanitation.
• Dependable, hardworking, and responsible attitude.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Ability to follow instructions and established procedures.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to stand, bend, lift, and perform physical kitchen duties for extended periods.

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
