Dishwasher

De La Tierra Café is seeking a dependable and hardworking Dishwasher to support daily café operations and maintain clean, organized kitchen and service areas. This role involves washing and sanitizing dishes, assisting café and kitchen staff, maintaining cleanliness standards, and helping ensure smooth service throughout the day. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a busy café environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize dishes, cups, glasses, utensils, pots, pans, and café equipment.
• Maintain clean and organized dishwashing, kitchen, and food-preparation areas.
• Operate dishwashing equipment and follow established cleaning procedures.
• Properly store clean dishes, cookware, and café supplies.
• Assist baristas and kitchen team members with routine cleaning and sanitation tasks.
• Keep sinks, counters, floors, and work areas clean and orderly.
• Remove trash and follow proper waste-disposal procedures.
• Monitor and replenish dishwashing and cleaning supplies as needed.
• Help maintain a steady supply of clean dishes, cups, and utensils during service.
• Support café team members during busy operating periods.
• Follow food-safety, sanitation, and workplace safety guidelines.
• Assist with opening, closing, and other daily café duties as assigned.
• Report equipment concerns, supply shortages, or maintenance issues to management.

Qualifications

• Previous dishwasher, kitchen, café, restaurant, or cleaning experience is helpful but not required.
• Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
• Able to work efficiently in a busy café environment.
• Good attention to cleanliness, organization, and detail.
• Comfortable standing for extended periods and performing routine cleaning tasks.
• Able to safely handle dishes, cookware, and café equipment.
• Willingness to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to follow food-safety and sanitation procedures.
