Job Summary

Terrazzo is a homemade Italian restaurant on the Carbondale Strip, focusing on fresh pasta and brick oven pizzas, and we're growing our back-of-house team. If you love the smell of fresh dough and simmering sauce, we want to meet you.

Duties

• Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to clean dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen tools efficiently.
• Follow food safety sanitizing procedures to ensure all items meet sanitation standards and regulations.
• Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic chopping or ingredient handling under supervision.
• Support bussing duties by clearing tables, removing trash, and maintaining cleanliness in dining areas.
• Handle manual tasks such as heavy lifting of pots, pans, and bulk supplies safely and correctly.
• Maintain organization of dishware storage areas and ensure proper disposal of waste materials.
• Adhere strictly to kitchen health and safety standards, including proper handling of knives and operating kitchen equipment safely.

Requirements

• Prior experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not mandatory; a willingness to learn is essential.
• Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitation procedures is highly desirable.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks efficiently throughout shifts.
• Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, sinks, and basic food prep tools.
• Strong attention to detail in cleanliness and sanitation standards; commitment to maintaining a hygienic workspace.
• Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting colleagues in fast-paced settings.
• Previous banquet or catering experience is a plus but not required; enthusiasm for hospitality roles is valued.
