Job Summary

The Dishwasher plays a fundamental role in maintaining Shawnee Country Club's high standards of food safety, kitchen sanitation, and overall operational presentation. This position requires someone who takes pride in preserving high-end tableware and kitchen equipment while maintaining an organized, immaculate culinary workspace.

Duties

Dishwashing & Sanitation

• Scrape, wash, and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, glassware, and utensils using commercial dishwashing machines and three-compartment pot sinks
• Maintain correct chemical concentrations, waters temperatures, and sanitizing solutions according to board and health regulations

Fine Ware & Silverware Care

• Exercise extreme care when handling delicate crystal stemware, fine China, and silver service items to prevent breakage or damage
• Sort, polish, and properly store silver and glassware in designated storage racks or cases

Kitchen Cleanliness & Maintenance

• Keep dish pit, prep areas, walk-in coolers, and storage spaces clean, organized, and dry
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors, wash down worktables, equipment surfaces, hood filters, and walls on a scheduled basis
• Collect and empty kitchen trash, recycling, and compost containers into exterior dumpsters; sanitize waste bins regularly

Culinary Support & Stocking

• Ensure cooks and service staff continuously have adequate stock of clean plates, bowls, cookware, and utensils during service shifts
• Unload, inspect, and organize incoming food and chemical deliveries into appropriate storerooms, walk-ins, and freezers

Event & Banquet Setup

• Assist the culinary team with banquet prep setup, mobile station tear-downs, and clearing equipment after special m ember events, weddings, and tournaments

Education

High school diploma or GED required

Experience

• Prior dishwashing or kitchen utility experience in a restaurant, hotel, or private club setting is preferred, but willing to train candidates with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time (8+ hours)
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs
• Comfort working in humid, wet, or high-temperature kitchen environments

Environmental & Working Conditions

• Temperature variations: Frequent movement between hot/humid kitchen pass environments and walk-in coolers
• Noise levels: Moderate to high noise levels during peak dining hours, banquet events, and inside active kitchen prep/dishwashing areas
• Occupational hazards: Potential exposure to hot plates, warm liquids, sharp cutlery, broken glass, wet/slippery floors, and commercial cleaning chemicals
• Attire & safety: Must adhere to club dress code and wear close-toe, slip-resistant shoes at all times

Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
